Sabato likens Hegseth to Dr Strangelove's unhinged general
Original: Larry Sabato: "Pete Hegseth thinks he’s General Patton, but he’s closer to the crazy general in # DrStrangelove ." # mov
Political analyst Larry Sabato mocked US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, saying he 'thinks he's General Patton' but is 'closer to the crazy general in Dr Strangelove'. The remark compares Hegseth to General Jack D. Ripper, the paranoid figure in Stanley Kubrick's 1964 satire, and has drawn attention amid ongoing criticism of Hegseth's leadership at the Pentagon.
Why now: The sharp comparison to a famous film villain is circulating amid continuing debate over Hegseth's conduct and competence as defence secretary.
