Kanye West concerts in Russia cancelled over St Petersburg arena

Original: rusland

Planned concerts by Kanye West in Russia have been scrapped, with Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reporting there was no rental agreement in place with the St Petersburg arena. The cancellation ends, for now, the American rapper's planned performances in the country, and details about who was organising the shows and why the deal fell through remain unclear.

Why now: The surprise cancellation of a major US artist's concerts in Russia is drawing attention amid questions over the organising and permits.
