UAE advisor Gargash calls flydubai hijacking attempt a terrorist attack
Original: UAE diplomacy advisor Gargash labels flydubai hijacking attempt terrorist attack
Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE leadership, has described an attempted hijacking involving flydubai as a terrorist attack. His characterization carries weight given his senior role in Emirati foreign policy, and it signals how the UAE is formally framing the incident. The move is drawing attention to the security implications for the Gulf carrier and regional aviation.
Why now: A senior UAE official's terrorism designation of a hijacking attempt on a commercial airline is newsworthy for regional security.
