ACLU says Jersey Shore voter challenges unfairly targeted Democrats and independents
Original: Jersey Shore voter challenge unfairly targeted Democrats and independents, ACLU says
The ACLU of New Jersey says voter challenges along the Jersey Shore unfairly targeted Democrats and independents, arguing the effort could improperly remove eligible voters from the rolls ahead of an election. The organization is calling attention to what it describes as a partisan pattern in the challenges and urging officials to reject them and protect legitimate voters' access to the ballot.
Why now: The ACLU's accusation of partisan targeting in voter challenges has drawn attention amid heightened concern over election integrity disputes.
