Anton Corbijn Praises Helen Mirren as Patricia Highsmith in New Film
Original: ‘A Talent for Murder’ Director Anton Corbijn Praises Helen Mirren’s Performance as Controversial Author Patricia Highsmith: ‘She’s a Great Jerk!’
Director Anton Corbijn has praised Helen Mirren's performance as novelist Patricia Highsmith in 'A Talent for Murder', jokingly calling the author, as played by Mirren, 'a great jerk'. Highsmith, known for novels like 'The Talented Mr. Ripley', was famously prickly and abrasive, and Corbijn's comments suggest the film leans into her difficult personality as much as her literary legacy.
Why now: The film's portrayal of a beloved but notoriously difficult author is drawing attention to Mirren's performance and Corbijn's candid remarks.
