New app reads your RSS feeds aloud hands-free

Original: Safe & Informed reads your own RSS feeds out loud, hands-free. In the car, on the metro, walking, or offline on a plane.

A developer has launched Safe & Informed, a mobile app that reads a user's own RSS feeds aloud in audio form for hands-free listening while driving, commuting, walking, or offline on a plane. The app runs entirely on-device, requires no account, lets users choose their own sources, and avoids engagement-optimised feeds. The maker has also published a post explaining the decision to build audio-first.

Why now: People are discussing it as a fresh, privacy-focused alternative to attention-grabbing news apps.
