Fediverse described as home for web pioneers with regrets
Original: Fediverse, the social media system for 40+ year old people who built the world wide web and regret it. – Daniel Lakeland
A quip by Daniel Lakeland describing the Fediverse as the social media system for people in their forties and older who helped build the world wide web and now regret it is circulating online. The joke plays on the network's reputation for attracting older, technically minded users disillusioned with mainstream, ad-driven platforms.
Why now: The self-deprecating joke resonates with tech veterans who have migrated to decentralized social networks.
