Ukraine Reveals Intercepted Russian Plan for Winter Infrastructure Strikes
Original: Ukraine Shares Intercepted Russian Plan for Winter Infrastructure Assault
Ukraine says it has obtained an intercepted Russian plan for attacks on critical infrastructure this winter, raising fears of a repeat of the 2022-2023 campaign that left millions without heat, water and power during freezing temperatures. Officials in Kyiv have used the disclosure to urge Western partners to speed up air defence deliveries ahead of the cold season.
Why now: Concerns are mounting that Russia will again target Ukraine's power grid as winter approaches.
