Ukraine rallies support at UN General Assembly ahead of winter
Original: Ukraine uses U.N. General Assembly to rally support, strengthen defense ahead of winter
Ukraine used its platform at the UN General Assembly in New York to press allied nations for continued military and financial backing as the country prepares for another winter of Russian strikes on its energy infrastructure. Kyiv's delegation is working to lock in air defense support and keep international attention on the war, amid concerns that global focus and aid commitments could fade as the conflict drags on.
Why now: Ukraine faces a critical winter and fears wavering Western support, making its diplomatic push at the UN newsworthy.
