The final televised debate between Brazil's president and his opposition candidate was called off, hours after a bomb scare outside the Supreme Court in Brasília. Both campaigns snubbed the event, leaving voters without a last head-to-head encounter before the election. Security concerns around Brazil's institutions have heightened tensions in an already heated campaign.
Why now: A security scare disrupted a key campaign event days before a national election.
