The Comédie de Caen, a major theatre in Normandy, France, has joined the fediverse, the network of decentralised social platforms. Announcement of the arrival was warmly shared by users, with commentary noting that amateur theatre fans are being well served by the growing number of cultural institutions joining the network. It is part of a broader trend of French cultural organisations establishing a presence outside mainstream commercial platforms.

Why now: Theatre audiences and cultural-sector users are welcoming another major French institution joining the decentralised social network.
