Sony is bringing AI-powered upscaling to the standard PlayStation 5. The feature, called QSSR, is a scaled-down version of the PSSR technology found in the PlayStation 5 Pro and is designed to improve image quality on the base console. Tech outlets report the rollout, with observers noting it narrows the visual gap between the standard and Pro models without new hardware.
Why now: Owners of the standard PS5 are excited about getting Pro-style image quality improvements for free.
