Zack Polanski to propose London rent 'triple lock' at Green conference

Original: Zack Polanski to demand London rent rise brake 'triple lock' in Green Party conference speech https://www.standard.co.uk

Green Party leader Zack Polanski is expected to call for a 'triple lock' on London rent rises in his speech to the party's conference, arguing rents should be capped so they cannot outpace tenants' incomes, wage growth or inflation. The proposal would place rent control at the centre of the party's offer to Londoners, putting pressure on larger parties over the capital's housing costs.

Why now: Rent affordability in London is a live political issue and the Green leader's conference speech is setting out a flagship new housing policy.
