A photographer shared a close-up of a Leopard Orchid taken in mid September a few years ago, noting the species has a long flowering season. They pointed out that it is often mistaken for the Donkey Orchid but can be distinguished by its smaller flowers with more red markings, and by the fact that it flowers earlier in the year. Nature lovers are enjoying the colourful native wildflower during rainy weather.
Why now: Nature photographers are sharing native orchid photos on a rainy weekend.
