Chameleon sighting sparks talk of wildlife trafficking

Original: Chameleon. Maybe I will find more that ONE this season. Doubt it. Illegal Wildlife Trafficking around the Big Five Indus

A nature observer says they found a single chameleon this season and doubts more will turn up, blaming the decline on illegal wildlife trafficking around the Big Five industry. They claim day workers and weak security are allowing poachers to strip local habitats, and suggest conflicts within the Big Five safari sector are partly driven by this trade.

Why now: Claims linking disappearing chameleons to trafficking in the Big Five safari industry are drawing attention.
