Trump claims Iranian nuclear sites hit in June were drug factories
Original: Trump says Iranian nuclear sites hit in Midnight Hammer were also ‘drug factories’
Donald Trump says the Iranian nuclear facilities struck during the US 'Midnight Hammer' operation in June were also being used as drug factories. The claim adds a new justification to the strikes, which had been presented as a bid to stop Iran's nuclear programme. The assertion has not been independently verified, and it is unclear what evidence supports the drugs allegation.
Why now: A former US president has made a new, unverified claim about already controversial military strikes on Iran.
