Dutch opticians divided over selling Meta smart glasses
Original: meta bril
Opticians in the Netherlands are split over whether to keep selling smart glasses, such as Meta's camera-equipped spectacles, amid privacy concerns. Some retailers say they will not wait for a possible ban and are pulling the products from their shelves, while others continue to offer them. The debate centres on the hidden camera and the risk of covert filming in public spaces.
Why now: Privacy worries about camera-equipped smart glasses and talk of a possible ban have put opticians' sales choices in the spotlight.
