Judge blocks Trump from firing Seattle US attorney

Original: Judge blocks Trump from firing Seattle US attorney who had job for an hour | CNN Politics

A federal judge has blocked President Trump from firing the US attorney for the Western District of Washington, based in Seattle, who had reportedly held the post for only about an hour before the dismissal attempt. The ruling temporarily protects the prosecutor from removal. The case adds to ongoing legal disputes over the administration's efforts to remove federal prosecutors it considers disloyal.

Why now: It is the latest in a string of legal battles over Trump's attempts to dismiss US attorneys appointed under previous leadership.
