A potter in Kentucky has finished building a wood-fired rocket kiln and lit it for the first time to test the draft and check for leaks, even roasting marshmallows over the flame. With everything working as expected, the first proper firing is scheduled for this Sunday, and the builder is inviting people to follow along.
Why now: The completed build and successful test firing set up a first kiln firing this Sunday, which pottery and woodfire enthusiasts are following.
