Original: ‘ICE, ICE, go away': Immigration advocates demonstrate across Meriden courthouse

Immigration advocates held a demonstration outside the Meriden courthouse in Connecticut, chanting 'ICE, ICE, go away' in protest of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity in the area. Advocates are pushing back against immigration arrests and enforcement actions, with local reports noting the courthouse demonstration drew community members calling for an end to deportations and expanded protections for immigrant residents.

Why now: Immigration enforcement actions have drawn growing public protest, and this local demonstration is part of that ongoing backlash.
