MLB drops plan for baseball game at Grand Teton National Park
Original: MLB drops proposal to host a baseball game at Grand Teton National Park
Major League Baseball has abandoned its proposal to stage a regular-season baseball game at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. The plan, which would have followed similar outdoor games at unconventional venues, had drawn attention over concerns about the impact of a large-scale sporting event on the protected park landscape. The league has now withdrawn the idea, though detailed reasons for the decision have not been given.
Why now: The decision ends a debated plan to hold a professional sporting event in a protected national park, prompting discussion about conservation and commercial use of public lands.
