Shikai Kento missed penalty shootout turn as Japan win
Original: pk戦
Japan's football team saw a match decided on a penalty shootout, with substitute Kento Shikai brought on in the 41st minute of the second half but not needed as the shootout ended before his turn at seventh kicker came. He joked afterward that he asked coach Moriyasu, 'Do I look bad at penalties?' Meanwhile FIFA rankings shifted, with Switzerland rising past Germany and Australia climbing despite a defeat.
Why now: A Japan match decided by penalty shootout put the spotlight on players' penalty roles, including Shikai's humorous remark about not being picked to kick.
