New special education preschool reports lower-than-expected demand
Original: Operators of a new special education preschool say demand is not as high as anticipated
Operators of a newly opened special education preschool say enrollment demand has not reached the levels they anticipated when planning the program. The shortfall comes despite widespread reports of unmet need for special education services among young children, raising questions about accessibility, awareness, or placement preferences among families in the area the preschool serves.
Why now: The gap between reported demand for special education services and this program's lower enrollment is unexpected and raises questions about barriers families face.
