Pope Leo XIV dedicates October prayer intention to mental health ministry
Original: Pope Leo XIV’s October prayer intention is ‘for mental health ministry’
Pope Leo XIV has chosen mental health ministry as his prayer intention for October, asking Catholics worldwide to pray for those working to support people experiencing mental health struggles. The monthly intentions, promoted through the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network, typically highlight issues the Pope wants the global Church to focus on. The choice reflects growing attention within the Church to mental well-being and pastoral care for the psychologically suffering.
Why now: The Pope's monthly prayer intentions draw wide attention, and this one addresses the increasingly prominent topic of mental health.
