Original: marie-france van heel

Marie-France van Heel, wife of the British Prime Minister, has stepped down from her job to focus fully on her role as the Prime Minister's partner, describing it as taking on a 'first lady' position. The Observer reported the move, which has prompted discussion about the informal role of a prime minister's spouse in British public life.
