Heroes and Terrorists: The Courage to Fight Islamist Terrorism
A new commentary piece argues that confronting Islamist terrorism requires political and moral courage, framing the debate around who is labelled a hero and who a terrorist. The author contends that Western societies too often hesitate to name the threat plainly, and calls for firmer resolve in counterterrorism policy. The piece has so far drawn little engagement, but its argument speaks to ongoing debates over security, free speech and how democracies respond to extremist violence.
Why now: It feeds into current public debate over how Western governments and societies should confront Islamist extremism.
