Uptown Theater Joins Open House Chicago for Rare Public Tours
Original: Uptown Theater Added to Open House Chicago, Catch a Rare Glimpse Inside Gilded Jewel
Chicago's historic Uptown Theater has been added to this year's Open House Chicago program, offering the public a rare chance to step inside the ornate 1920s movie palace. The venue, long closed and undergoing restoration efforts, is regarded as one of the city's grandest forgotten landmarks, and spots to view its gilded interior are expected to draw strong interest.
Why now: The theater is rarely open to the public, so inclusion in the open house event offers an uncommon glimpse inside.
