Original: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Locks Coveted Shield Behind $6 Twitch Sub Paywall and Fans Are Up in Arms Warhammer 40,

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 players are criticising the game's publisher after a coveted in-game shield cosmetic was made available only through a paid Twitch subscription costing around $6. Fans argue that locking desirable items behind streamer subscriptions rather than gameplay or a direct purchase is an unwelcome monetisation trend, and the controversy is drawing wide attention across gaming communities.

Why now: Players are angry about a popular cosmetic item being gated behind a paid Twitch subscription, fueling debate over game monetisation.
