Sony is launching a new AI upscaling technology for the standard PS5 called Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), described as a new performance tier of AI upscaling. The feature stems from Sony's Project Amethyst work and aims to bring AI-enhanced image quality to the base console rather than reserving it for the PS5 Pro.
Why now: Gamers are discussing whether base PS5 owners will get better graphics and performance without buying the more expensive Pro model.
