Connecting Chords revives Duke Ellington's sacred music in West Michigan

Original: Connecting Chords brings Duke Ellington's sacred music back to West Michigan after 60 years

The Connecting Chords organization is presenting Duke Ellington's sacred music in West Michigan for the first time in roughly 60 years. The concerts revive Ellington's celebrated sacred concerts, large-scale jazz works the composer created late in his career, and are drawing attention from local music lovers and public radio coverage in the region.

Why now: The rare revival of Ellington's rarely performed sacred concerts after six decades is a notable cultural event for the region.
