Trump says he regrets some Supreme Court appointments
Original: Trump regrets Supreme Court picks
Donald Trump has voiced regret over some of his choices for the US Supreme Court, complaining that justices he appointed have not reliably backed him or his agenda. The remarks come as the court weighs cases with major consequences for his policies, and critics see the comments as fresh pressure on the judiciary.
Why now: Comments from a former president criticising justices he himself appointed undermine the court's perceived independence and land amid high-stakes rulings.
