Britain in talks with European allies over emergency diesel reserves
Original: Britain in talks with European allies over release of emergency diesel stockpiles https://www. theguardian.com/business/
The British government is holding talks with European allies, including the European Commission, about a coordinated release of emergency diesel stockpiles. The discussions, reported by the Guardian, point to concern over diesel supply security and come amid trade tensions linked to the Trump administration. A coordinated drawdown of reserves would be an unusual step, underscoring how seriously governments view the current pressure on fuel markets.
Why now: Diesel supply worries and trade tensions with the US administration have made coordinated fuel reserve action a live policy debate in Europe.
