Chicago's shuttered Uptown Theatre joins Open House Chicago
Original: Long-shuttered Uptown Theatre added to Open House Chicago lineup
Chicago's Uptown Theatre, closed for decades, has been added to this year's Open House Chicago lineup, giving the public a rare chance to step inside the historic movie palace. The announcement is drawing attention from architecture fans and locals who have long awaited access to the landmark venue, which remains unrestored.
Why now: The building has been closed for years, so public access through Open House Chicago is a rare and notable opportunity.
