Amazon's Carrie revival called a cyberbullying nightmare

The Verge has published a review of Carrie, the series based on Stephen King's novel that streams on Amazon Prime Video, describing it as a cyberbullying nightmare. The adaptation transposes the story of the telekinetic outcast high-schooler into the social media era, with online harassment replacing the pranks of the original. Reviewers say the update makes the horror uncomfortably contemporary.
Why now: The review's framing of the classic horror story around modern cyberbullying has caught readers' attention.
