The White House has excluded CNN from the press pool for the second time in a week, according to The Guardian. The repeated removal of a major network from the rotating pool that covers the president is being widely flagged as an escalation in tensions between the Trump administration and news media, raising fresh concerns about press access and retaliation against unfavourable coverage.
Why now: A second exclusion of a major network in one week suggests a deliberate pattern of restricting press access, which fuels debate over media freedom in the US.
