Gears of War: E-Day launches into a crowded market
Original: Gears of War: E-Day is a great game launching at a terrible time https://www.theverge.com/games/1002768/gears-of-war-eda
Gears of War: E-Day is being praised by reviewers as an excellent game, but The Verge argues it is arriving at a bad moment, likely competing with a packed release calendar and challenging market conditions for Xbox. Early coverage frames it as a strong entry in the long-running shooter series whose success may be limited more by timing than by quality.
Why now: Review coverage of the game's launch is drawing attention to concerns about its release timing.
