Potsdam conference examines social media's impact on young people
Original: 📱 Wie prägt Social Media junge Menschen? Einerseits Chancen für Bildung und Teilhabe, andererseits Risiken der Desinform
The international conference "Youth in a Digital Society" takes place at the University of Potsdam on 8 and 9 October, addressing how social media shapes young people. Organisers highlight both sides of the issue: opportunities for education and participation, but also risks from disinformation and psychological strain. Researchers and practitioners are expected to discuss how societies can support youth in navigating digital platforms.
Why now: Ongoing public concern about social media's effects on youth mental health and disinformation is driving attention to the conference.
