Photographer marks end of season with scorched soccer field image

Original: photo 62/1001 «End Of Season» # photo ©️ Dietmar Bachmann Only a # soccer ball left behind by the children and the grass

Swiss photographer Dietmar Bachmann shared the 62nd image in his 1001-photo series, titled «End Of Season». It shows a small soccer field in a residential neighbourhood with only a ball left behind by children and grass scorched by recent, unusual heatwaves, standing as reminders of the summer's activity there.

Why now: The evocative image of a quiet, heat-scorched playing field resonates as summer ends amid discussion of unusual heatwaves.
