SpaceX Starship reaches orbit then explodes over ocean
Original: SpaceX Starship: World’s most powerful rocket launched into orbit then explodes in ocean
SpaceX launched Starship, the world's most powerful rocket, on a test flight that carried it into orbit before the vehicle was lost in an explosion over the ocean. The mission marked another step in the company's effort to develop the fully reusable spacecraft intended for missions to the Moon and Mars. Attention is focused on how far the rocket got and what the failure means for future flights.
Why now: A dramatic launch and loss of the world's most powerful rocket naturally draws global attention to SpaceX's test programme.
