Massachusetts ballot to feature top-two primaries and same-day registration
Original: Top-two primaries and same-day voter registration proposed on Massachusetts ballot
Two electoral reforms are set to reach Massachusetts voters through ballot measures: a shift to top-two primaries, in which the two leading candidates advance regardless of party, and same-day voter registration. Tufts Daily reported the proposals. If approved, the changes would alter how primaries work and make it easier for residents to register and vote on election day.
Why now: Ballot measures proposing significant changes to Massachusetts election rules are drawing attention ahead of the vote.
