Kenyans fight for restitution of colonial-era stolen land
Original: ‘They raped our country’: documentary follows Kenyans’ fight for restitution over stolen land By Carlos Mureithi in Nair
A new documentary reported by Carlos Mureithi in Nairobi follows Kenyan communities demanding restitution of ancestral highlands taken during British colonial rule. Multinational tea companies continue to occupy the land, and displaced families are speaking out about the lasting harm, with one describing it as 'they raped our country'.
