Automated System Confirms Strike Two Call in MLB
Original: Strike 2 confirmed by ABS
MLB's automated ball-strike system (ABS) upheld a strike two call during a game, according to the league's coverage. The ruling means the challenge failed and the at-bat continued with two strikes. The ABS challenge system is being used this season, allowing players to contest ball and strike calls, and each decision on the accuracy of umpires is drawing close attention from fans and analysts.
Why now: MLB's new ABS challenge system is new this season, so every upheld or overturned call draws attention.
