Becerra and Hilton debate focused mostly on Trump
Original: It was their only scheduled debate. Becerra and Hilton talked mostly about Trump
California attorney general candidates Xavier Becerra and Eric Holder... correction: Becerra faced Republican challenger Eric Hilton in their only scheduled debate, but much of the discussion centred on President Trump rather than the candidates' own records or platforms. Observers are weighing what the Trump-heavy focus means for voters trying to compare the two contenders ahead of the election.
Why now: It was the candidates' only scheduled debate, so its content is drawing scrutiny.
