Former Abe Aide Says Takaichi Has 'Zero Diplomatic Ability'
Original: Sanae Takaichi Condemned as Having "Zero Diplomatic Ability" by Former Abe Aide
Japan's new prime minister Sanae Takaichi is facing a scathing public attack from a former aide to the late Shinzo Abe, who says she has 'zero diplomatic ability'. The criticism targets how she is handling relations with neighbouring countries in her first weeks in office, and it is spreading widely in Japanese political commentary.
Why now: Takaichi has just taken office and her early foreign-policy handling is drawing sharp criticism from within her own political camp.
