A Palestinian teenager says he would rather die than return to Israeli detention after spending ten months held in Israeli prisons. In an account published by +972 Magazine, he describes harsh conditions faced by Palestinian minors in the military detention system, including reports of mistreatment. The testimony adds to growing scrutiny of Israel's treatment of Palestinian child prisoners during the ongoing war and mass detentions in the occupied territories.
Why now: Renewed attention to the treatment of Palestinian detainees, especially minors, amid the ongoing Israel-Gaza war.
