Original: Finished reading app.thestorygraph.com/books/4eefef... #books #booksky #bookthreads #history #politics #military #butler
A reader has finished Smedley Butler's classic antiwar pamphlet War Is a Racket and shared it among book-focused communities online, tagging history, politics and military topics. The 1935 work, in which the decorated US Marine general argued that American wars serve business interests, continues to find new audiences whenever debates about militarism and profiteering resurface.
Why now: Renewed interest in antiwar and critiques of military-industrial profiteering keeps Butler's short classic circulating among readers.
