Mastodon users test trending hashtags across topics
Original: Testing hashtags #socialmedia #mastodon #news #meta #wch #space #photography #music #fediverse #twitter
Posts tagged with a wide range of hashtags — including #socialmedia, #news, #meta, #space, #photography, #music and #twitter — are appearing on Mastodon, apparently as tests of how the fediverse platform handles topic tags. The content itself carries little substance, but the activity reflects ongoing experimentation with hashtag reach and visibility on the decentralized network, which many users joined after leaving Twitter.
Why now: unclear
