NAZA, an award-winning documentary about Israel's military campaign in Gaza, has opened at number one at the Italian box office, beating competing releases including the Avengers: Endgame encore. Italy showed particularly strong appetite for the film, which documents the deaths of Palestinian civilians. Its commercial success signals significant public interest in the conflict there.
Why now: A Gaza documentary topping the Italian box office ahead of a Marvel blockbuster is an unusual and striking result.
