Musk, Luckey, Gingrich to Advise Pentagon Warfare Initiative
Original: Elon Musk, Palmer Luckey, Newt Gingrich to Help Pentagon with Warfare Initiative
Elon Musk, Anduril founder Palmer Luckey and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich are set to assist a Pentagon warfare initiative, working alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The unusual lineup of a tech billionaire, a defense startup chief and a veteran politician signals the Pentagon's push to bring private-sector technology and outside thinking into military modernization. Commentators are weighing conflicts of interest given Musk's government contracts.
Why now: The extraordinary mix of high-profile tech and political figures joining a military initiative is drawing scrutiny over defense innovation and potential conflicts of interest.
