Former PGA Tour and Korn Ferry players meet in U.S. Mid-Amateur final
Original: Former PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour players reach all-ex-pro final at 2027 U.S. Mid-Amateur
Two former professionals — one from the PGA Tour and one from the Korn Ferry Tour — have advanced to the final of the 2027 U.S. Mid-Amateur, setting up an all-ex-pro championship match at the amateur event. The matchup is notable because the Mid-Amateur is reserved for players aged 25 and over, and finals between two players with professional tour backgrounds are rare.
Why now: An all-ex-professional final is unusual for an amateur championship, drawing attention from golf fans.
